As far as consistency goes, Anastasia Potapova has had the perfect start to the season.
For the third time in four tournaments, Potapova has won back to back matches in that competition, doing that in Brisbane and Linz earlier as well. While Potapova was knocked out in the second round at the Australian Open, she looked to have recovered well and is slowly creeping up the rankings chart too.
In the first round here, Potapova had a fairly straightforward opponent in the Julia Grabher who has had fitness and form concerns for a while now. Potapova had dropped just four games to clinch the win there.
And then in the second, Potapova eased to another straight-set win, defeating Varvara Gracheva to grab her place in the last eight.

Seidel Makes it Two Surprises in a Row
Just 19 years of age and ranked 143rd in the world, Ella Seidel had last won a WTA main draw match in Ningbo last October.
Seidel then failed to qualify for both, the Australian Open and the Linz Open last week, which meant that when she finally did make it to the main draw here via the qualifiers, she would have been greatly relieved.
Her opener was against Jaqueline Cristian, a 7/10 favourite to win that match. Seidel dropped just six games in her upset.
And in the second round, it was Anna Blinkova who went in as a 3/5 favourite but Seidel made it through in another routine victory, 6-2, 7-6 (5).
