Anhelina Kalinina v Aliaksandra Sasnovich Head to Head
The only previous meeting between these two players came in Charleston in 2022 and Kalinina had won it in straight sets.
Kalinina Ends Lamens’ Campaign
It took Anhelina Kalinina two hours and 15 minutes in the end but she was able to get the job done, defeating Suzan Lamens to make the quarterfinal here.
After a fairly routine win over Elena Gabriela Ruse in the first round, Kalinina struggled for rhythm in the first set of this second round encounter, dropping her serve a whopping three times.
She retaliated quickly in the second though, breaking Lamens in the very first game and then consolidating that with a second break of serve in the fifth.
The decider began on a curious note with neither player able to hold serve in the first four games and then both holding it in the next game to take them to 4-4.
In the ninth game of the third set, Kalinina finally earned herself that crucial break that won her the match.
This follows her semifinal appearance at the Brisbane International earlier this season.

Sasnovich Impresses with Successive Wins
After making a poor start to the season as she fell in the second round of an ITF competition in Canberra and failed to qualify for the Australian Open, Aliaksandra Sasnovich has turned things around nicely for herself.
It started at the Linz Open where she made it through the qualifiers to make the main draw before Sasnovich defeated Anastasia Zakharova to win her opener. She fell to Ekaterina Alexandrova in the second round.
This was followed by a qualifying loss in this competition but making it to the main draw as a lucky loser, Sasnovich has already played better than she has in the last seven months by making it her first quarterfinal at this stage in this time-frame.
Sasnovich overcame Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in a shock first round win before easing through with a 6-3, 7-5 victory against Marina Stakusic in the second.
Kalinina v Sasnovich Prediction
While Kalinina is a favourite here, Sasnovich’s form could play a part in pushing her opponent. We still expect Kalinina to come through but she might need some on the court.
