Karolina Muchova v Suzan Lamens Head to Head
Muchova and Lamens have never faced off before this.
Muchova Solid But Needs a Deep Run
Karolina Muchova enters this year’s WTA Dubai as the 14th seed and she will hope she can keep her form and fitness issues out of her campaign at this WTA 1000 event.
The last time that Muchova took to court was at the Linz Open where she won a couple of rounds to make it to the semifinals (she had an opening bye).
However, she was soundly beaten by Ekaterina Alexandrova in that encounter and then opted to withdraw from the WTA 1000 event in Doha.
According to a social media this was down an injury she had suffered which meant she needed to work on it. She has been marked as a seeded player in a tournament where she was a quarterfinalist in 2023.
If fit, we see her do well here.

Lamens Comes Through the Qualifiers
Suzan Lamens has had mixed results coming into this competition with a third round appearance at the Brisbane International in her season-opener standing out.
She had beaten Kamilla Rakhimova and Magdalena Frech in that tournament to raise hopes of a sustained jump in her performances. And to be fair to Lamens, she has done better than what one can expect out of someone who had started the season ranked 87th in the world.
As a result of that showing in Brisbane and a second round appearance at the Australian Open and in Cluj-Napoca, Lamens hit a career-high ranking of 66th recently.
She was still forced to play in the qualifiers of this 56-women event and did well to come through – beating Daria Saville and Shuai Zhang on the way.
Can she now upset a quality player like Muchova here?
