Magda Linette v Dayana Yastremska Head to Head
There have been four previous meetings between these two players including one in the qualifiers of the New Haven Open in 2018. Yastremska had won that along with the 2019 Hua Hin Open and in 2022 in Birmingham.
Linette’s only win in this match-up came in Charleston last year.
Linette 5-5 for the Season
Magda Linette hadn’t had a great start to the season but of late it looks like she is finding some of her rhythm.
It was the same rhythm that had taken her to the 19th in the world but Linette looked to have fallen off that perch a little bit last year.
And this year, the Polish number three started off with a 1-3 win-loss record across the Australian swing. Since then, however, she has turned things around in Abu Dhabi and Doha winning a couple of rounds at both.
At the former it was Renata Zarazua who ended her run in the quarterfinal while at the latter, Linette surprised Veronika Kudermetova and Magdalena Frech before falling to Marta Kostyuk in the third round.

Linz Finalist Yastremska Loses Doha Opener
After making an exit in the very first round at her season-opener at Brisbane, Dayana Yastremska looked to have come back rather well to make the quarterfinals in Hobart and the third round at the Australian Open.
And she topped those two showings with her performance at the Linz Open where Yastremska defeated Maria Sakkari and Clara Tauson on her way to the final.
Which is why her opening loss at the Qatar Open two weeks ago was a bit of a surprise to those following her. That she went down in straight sets further points to the sheer exhaustion of having already played five tournaments in about seven weeks of the season.
Yastremska will hope to come back refreshed from her opening loss when she takes to court against a higher-ranked opponent here but once who has been struggling for form all season.
