Having begun the season as the 58th-ranked player in the world on the men’s tour, Fabian Marozsan seems to have done enough to maintain that ranking – he will begin the new week ranked 57th in all probabilities.

Especially after the Hungarian player began the year with a bang, having defeated Andrey Rublev and Roman Safiullin in Hong Kong.

He lost to Lorenzo Sonego in the third round there, went down to Gabriel Diallo in the Davis Cup and then fell to Rublev in their Rotterdam rematch.

Dougaz Trying to Stall a Rankings Fall
At his best, Aziz Dougaz was ranked 192nd in the world but before the start of the new tournament week he had fallen to 223rd on the ATP charts.
That had been thanks to his inability to win too many matches since his Futures title win late in September last year.
Dougaz did make the semifinal of one of the Challengers and ended the previous season with a quarterfinal of another one but hasn’t had the same kind of start in 2025.
Having failed to qualify for both, the Hong Kong Open and Australian Open, he went back to playing a Futures event and lost in the first round there. He was then beaten in both his Davis Cup ties and lost in the first round of the Lille Challenger before finally grabbing one main draw match win in Manama.
It would be expecting too much out of him to overcome Marozsan here given his form.
