Andrey Rublev v Quentin Halys Head to Head
Rublev defeated Halys in their only previous meeting which came in Shanghai in 2023.
Rublev Finally Gets Going in 2025
Andrey Rublev has credited his mental toughness for the way he’s turned things around in his career and that was on display yet again in Doha last week.
Having started off the season with back to back opening round losses in the Hong Kong Open and the Australian Open, Rublev went on to show some resurrection in Montpellier and Rotterdam with a couple of wins in each of the tournaments.
Still, this wasn’t the Rublev we know given the kind of deep runs he has had over the years in hardcourt competitions including in 2024 itself when he had begun with a title first up and a quarterfinal showing at the Australian Open.
This time around, it has taken Rublev till the third week of February to deliver the goods with the Russian getting the better of Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jack Draper on his way to the title.
The 2022 winner at this tournament will now kick-start things here with a lot more confidence with the only concern being any kind of physical exhaustion from having played till the whole of the previous week till Saturday.

Halys Comes Through the Qualifiers
Quentin Halys has been around for a while on the tour and has a career-best ranking of 61st in the world. And that he hasn’t been able to do better than that can be exemplified by how his season has gone so far.
He started off with a retirement in the very first tournament he played this year and then won a round at the Australian Open. From there on, however, Halys hasn’t won a main round match.
There have been three first round matches that Halys has played in this period, at Montpellier, Marseille and Doha, and gone down to Jesper de Jong, Zhizhen Zhang and Auger-Aliassime.
Surely he would think he could have done better in two of those matches if not all three.
Halys defeated Yasutaka Uchiyama and Pavel Kotov in the qualifiers and as luck would have it, has drawn Rublev first up.
Rublev v Halys Prediction
