Alejandro Davidovich Fokina v Mattia Bellucci Head to Head
Fokina and Bellucci have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Fokina Coming off Solid Delray Beach Showing
In what turned out to be his best performance since 2022, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina made it to the final of the Delray Beach Open a week ago before he went down fighting in three sets to Miomir Kecmanovic.
That result had followed victories over Matteo Arnaldi and Taylor Fritz in the previous rounds, and that helped him climb up the rankings chart to 48th in the world – he was 61st at the start of the season.
Earlier this year, Fokina had shown glimpses of what he’s capable of when he made the fourth round of the Australian Open with wins over Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jakub Mensik on his way.
With a week’s break coming his way, Fokina will hope to add to 9-5 win-loss record for the season.

Bellucci Makes it as a Lucky Loser
Having failed to qualify for the Australian Open, Mattia Bellucci had also lost in the opening rounds at two of the Challenger tournaments, one on either side of the season’s first Grand Slam.
He defeated Lucas Pouille in the Montpellier Open opener but not too many would have expected what followed in Rotterdam.
Bellucci made it through the qualifiers to enter the main draw there before overcoming Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsistipas on his way to the semifinals.
Winning back to back matches against players of this calibre would have given Bellucci the shot in the arm he needs to try and keep moving up the rankings.
He looks good to break into the top 50 but for that he will need to get the better of Fokina here who is a 1/2 favourite.
Fokina v Bellucci Prediction
Backing this to be a fighting match between two in-form players – one coming off a final, the other featuring in a semifinal. We could see a three-setter.
Fokina v Bellucci Tips
- Three sets in the match: 6/5
