Caroline Dolehide v Anastasia Zakharova Preview
Head-to-Head: Dolehide and Zakharova have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Caroline Dolehide kick-started the season straightaway at the Australian Open and while she made the second round there, the American was then beaten in the first round at the Singapore Open by the struggling Anna Kalinskaya.
A difficult win over Daria Snigur then took her to the second round at Cluj-Napoca but that’s where it ended for Dolehide who then lost to Katerina Siniakova.
Once ranked 41st in the world, Dolehide will hope she can turn things around when she takes to court against a player ranked 132nd on the WTA Rankings.
Zakharova has featured in a few tournaments this season but what has been interesting to note is that she has won no main round matches. In four of these tournaments, Zakharova hasn’t even made the main round.
Which is why a couple of wins over Tara Moore and Mananchaya Sawangkaew in the qualifiers here should help her regain some of her confidence. Backing her to put up a fight.
Dolehide v Zakharova prediction: Three sets in the match: 6/5

Bernarda Pera v Cristina Bucsa Preview
Head-to-Head: There have been two previous meetings between these two players, one on the ITF circuit and another at the Charleston Open with both matches won by Pera.
Bernarda Pera had begun the season in Auckland with a couple of rounds in Auckland but that was the last of her wins.
She featured in Hobart, Australian Open and Singapore Open after that and she hasn’t won again. In each of those tournaments, Pera was knocked out in the first round, losing to Anna Blinkova, Tatjana Maria and Camila Osorio.
The American has a chance to change things around against a player ranked 99th in the world but Cristina Bucsa has had a solid season so far. She made the second round at the Australian Open and Doha, while making the main draw of this tournament with a couple of wins.
This could turn out to be an interesting battle with nothing to choose between the two.
Pera v Bucsa prediction: Three sets in the match: 6/5
