While Felix Auger-Aliassime had entered his first round match with Alexander Bublik in some brilliant form throughout the season, it took him a while to get his bearings right in this encounter.
In a match that went on for nearly three hours, Auger-Aliassime saved a set-point in the opening set before edging Bublik out 7-6 (7), 6-7 (4), 6-3 to move into round two.

Borges in a Stunning Win over Fils
Not too many would have given Nuno Borges a massive chance to defeat Arthur Fils in the first round here in Dubai.
Not because Borges is out of form or anything else but due to the fact that Fils is ranked 19th in the world and one of the players to watch out in the times to come.
An even smaller number would have expected Borges to cruise to a straight set win over Fils, especially after starting out 4/3 underdog in the encounter.
