Stefanos Tsitsipas v Matteo Berrettini Head to Head
Tsitsipas has a 5-1 advantage over his opponent here with three of those wins having come in hardcourt competitions. Berrettini won their last meeting in Gstaad in 2024.
Tsitsipas Limps Past Khachanov
Stefanos Tsitsipas has struggled all season and he gave another glimpse of how much trouble he has been this year when he was forced to scrape past Karen Khachanov in the second round.
Having beaten Lorenzo Sonego in the first round in straight, the Greek number one needed three sets and two and a half hours to edge out Khachanov.
He won 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4 to huff and puff through to successive wins for just the second time this season. The first time Tsitsipas did that was in Rotterdam Open where he made the quarterfinal only to lose in Mattia Bellucci.
Tsitsipas had then followed that up with a first round loss at the ATP Doha, losing to Hamad Medjedovic there.

Berrettini Eases Past O’Connell
Matteo Berrettini hadn’t a great start to the season when he fell in the first round at both, the Brisbane International and Rotterdam Open and making just the second round at the Australian Open.
Fortunately for Berrettini, he has managed to turn things around a little since then.
The former Wimbledon runner-up made the quarterfinal in Doha with wins over Novak Djokovic and Tallon Griekspoor and then made the second round here with a victory over Gael Monfils in the first round here.
Berrettini defeated Christopher O’Connell here 7-6 (2), 6-2 to enter the last eight stage, winning his encounter in an hour and a half. Smashing 15 aces in the match, Berrettini did not face a single break-point while getting the better of his opponent’s serve on two occasions.
The Italian will look to get past a struggling Tsitsipas in this one.
Tsitsipas v Berrettini Predictions
Tsitsipas might be ranked way higher than Berrettini but we think the latter has a good chance to get past his opponent here given how well he has grown this season.
