Felix Auger-Aliassime v Quentin Halys Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and Auger-Aliassime has won them both. They came at the 2024 Marseille Open and in Doha just last week.
Auger-Aliassime Ends Cilic’s Run
For the fourth match in a row, Felix Auger-Aliassime was involved in a three-setter and the good news for the Canadian player was that he came on the right side of the result for the third time.
Having lost to Andrey Rublev in the semifinal of the ATP Doha last week, Auger-Aliassime resumed his journey in Dubai this week with hard-fought wins over Alexander Bublik and Nuno Borges in the first two rounds.
And then facing the in-form Marin in the quarterfinals, Auger-Aliassime managed to stall the Croat’s comeback in a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory. He was on court for two hours and 18 minutes, another such two-plus hour contest.
Aiger-Aliassome dropped his serve just once in the whole match – in the fourth game of the second set – but other than that he broke Cilic three times too.
He now has a golden opportunity to make his third final of the season after Adelaide and Montpellier.

Halys in a Thriller with Nardi
Before the start of this tournament, the only main draw match that Quentin Halys had won this year came at the Australian Open where he needed five sets to overcome the little-known Adam Walton.
He had earlier been knocked out of the Adelaide International in the first round and then lost his openers at Montpellier, Marseille and Doha as well.
Which is why when Quentin Halys took to court even his qualifiers here, one couldn’t be sure about the possibility of him making it through to the main draw. He did that and then shocked Andrey Rublev in the first round.
Halys followed that up with a straight-set win over Roberto Bautista-Agut before coming back from behind to edge out Luca Nardi in the quarterfinals.
In a match that went on for two hours and eight minutes, Halys won 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) to seal his spot in the quarterfinals. Can he now extend this surprise run further?
