Ajla Tomljanovic v Ena Shibahara Head to Head
Tomljanovic and Shibhahara have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Tomljanovic Slowly Finding Her Groove
Following just one main draw victory during the two tournaments of the Australian Open swing and the Singapore Open combined, Ajla Tomljanovic looks to be finally finding her groove here.
Following a straight-set win over Katie Volynets in the first round, Tomljanovic came back from being a set down in the second round against Jodie Burrage to grab a victory.
She looked to be in some strife after losing the opening set thanks to a late break of serve. Fortunately for Tomljanovic, she came back with an early break of serve in the second set and then ran past her opponent in the third, winning it 6-0.
Ranked 111th at the start of this tournament, a win here will bring Tomljanovic back into the top 100. She has an opponent next who has never been ranked better than 132nd in her career.

Shibahara Continues Shock Run with Birrell Win
Ena Shibahara was forced to feature in the qualifiers in the competition to try and make it to the main draw and she has now won four in a row including those two to enter the quarterfinals.
In each of these four matches, Shibahara was the second favourite according to the bookmakers but has managed to pull off an upset win.
It started with victories over Lauren Davis and Viktorija Golubic in the qualifying rounds and then saw Shibahara defeat Kaja Juvan in her opener here.
And starting out a 6/4 underdog against Kimberly Birrell, Shibahara grabbed a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win to move into the last eight stage.
Matters do become that much tougher given Tomljanovic’s experience but we could see a fighting Shibahara trying to pull off another upset.
Tomljanovic v Shibahara Prediction
No surprises that Shibahara is the second favourite again with 8/5 on offer for her win. We could see both play out another three-setter here.
Tomljanovic v Shibahara Tips
