Thiago Seyboth Wild v Alexandre Muller Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came on the Challenger circuit in 2018 and Muller had won that encounter.
Seyboth Wild Prefers Clay
Thiago Seyboth Wild’s records on clay and other surfaces are as different from each other as chalk is from cheese.
Over a career that has consisted of playing on the ITF, Challenger and tour-level matches, Seyboth Wild has a 204-143 record on clay while the rest of them have seen him play just 90 odd matches of which he has won 44.
Take the example of 2025 itself.
Seyboth Wild has featured in six tournaments and registered just two wins – both of which came on the clay courts of the Argentina Open. Unfortunately for him, he hasn’t done too much else on clay either this year and this poor form could be a hindrance for him coming into this opener.
Interestingly, he had made the third round here last year.

Muller in Two Finals This Year
Unlike his opponent, Alexandre Muller seems to be an all-court player. How else does one define someone who kick-started the season with a title win on the hardcourts of Hong Kong (his maiden) and then made it to the final at the ATP 500 event in Rio on clay.
It took the in-form, clay-court specialist in Sebastian Baez to knock him out there.
So while Muller was sent packing in the first round of the Mexican Open last week, he still has a 9-5 win-loss record for the season. He will also know he is up against a player who has had his issues in hardcourt competitions despite making the third round here last year.
Can Muller invoke his performances from Hong Kong in this one to try and emulate his previous year’s showing here when he made the second round?
Seyboth Wild v Muller Predictions
On any surface outside of clay, Muller looks to be the obvious pick to win this one against Seyboth Wild. We think he will run through this one and win it in straight sets.
Seyboth Wild v Muller Tips
- Muller to win in straight sets: 8/11
