Li Reached Singapore Final
Nearly three years ago, Ann Li had hit her career-best ranking of 44th in the world but since then she hasn’t been able to hold on to that form and had shown a steady decline in her rankings.
So much so that she ended the 2023 season ranked 169th.
Over the 2024 season Li did show some signs of a change in fortunes and by the end of the year had broken back into the top 100 but it wasn’t till earlier this year that she what she is truly capable of at the highest level.
Having made the second round at the Auckland Open and Hobart International to kick-start the season, Li then went on to stun a few around with a finals appearance at the Singapore Open.
It was her second such showing since that title win in 2021 and first for the season.
Li will now hope to earn a win at the Indian Wells Open, something that she has done just once before in her career.
