Alexander Shevchenko v Rinky Hijikata Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between these two players.
Shevchenko Form Struggles Becoming More Pronounced
It looked like Alexander Shevchenko had had a decent start to the season when he won two of his four singles matches at the United Cup. One of those wins came against Stefanos Tsitsipas and that should have given him the kind of boost he needed to kick-start the year.
Unfortunately, things haven’t gone his way since.
There was a Davis Cup win for Shevchenko but since then, in the four tournaments that he has played, the Kazakh player has won just one match. That came in Rio where he was up against the 179th-ranked Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves.
Having made the second round here last year, Shevchenko will need to pull a rabbit out of his hat if he wants to emulate that showing from last season.

Hijikata Struggling Since His Adelaide Run
Rinky Hijikata had come into his own last season, dishing out some fine performances in Brisbane, Delray Beach, Queen’s and Hangzhou – four tournaments where he made the quarterfinals.
This year, Hijikata looked to have begun the season well with a similar showing at Adelaide but since then his performances have tapered off.
Since reaching the last eight stage at that tournament, Hijikata has featured in six main draw matches at tour level and won just one match – a first round win at Dallas against Adrian Mannarino.
Hijikata will now hope to turn things around as he looks to emulate his Indian Wells Open showing from the last season when he made the second round with a win over Mikael Ymer.
Shevchenko v Hijikata Predictions
These are two players without a lot of main draw wins at the highest level and we think that at 11/10, Hijikata could be a good bet.
