What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the WTA Linz?
Having gone into the tournament as the top seed, Jeļena Ostapenko overcame Ekaterina Alexandrova in the title-decider in straight sets to grab her eighth title on the WTA circuit. She won 6–2, 6–3.
In winning the title, she was forced to save a match-point against Clara Tauson in what turned out to be a ripper of a second round match. Ostapenko won the deciding set in a tie-breaker which went to 9-7.
Anastasia Potapova, who had won the title in 2023, made it as far as the last eight stage but fell to fellow Russian player Alexandrova.
