Nick Kyrgios v Botic van de Zandschulp Head to Head
This will be their first ever meeting.
Kyrgios Hasn’t Won a Match Since 2022
Nick Kyrgios was having the time of his life in 2022 when he made the semifinals at Stuttgart and Halle and then stunned the tennis world with a final appearance at Wimbledon. He lost to Novak Djokovic there but it had looked like the talent that is Kyrgios had finally arrived.
He would go on to win a title at the Washington Open as well, make the quarterfinal at the Canadian Masters and end the year as the US Open quarterfinalist.
So much so that he ended the 2022 season ranked 22nd in the world.
Fast forward two years and two months forward and Kyrgios hasn’t won a match at the highest level, having barely played in a handful of encounters.
Injuries have forced him out and even as he made his comeback this year with appearances at Brisbane and Australian Open, he has shown some glimpses of a return to his old self but is still to win a match.

van de Zandschulp’s Form Not Great Either
Botic van de Zandschulp might be ranked in the top 100 at the moment but he comes into this encounter knowing he has had a struggle this season.
The Dutchman, who made the third round of the Indian Wells Masters in 2022, has won just one main draw math in the entire season – and that’s spread across seven tournaments.
And even that win came in the Qatar Open against Abdellah Shelbayh was 7/2 going into the match to win it.
Van de Zandschulp had kick-started the season with a qualifying defeat in Auckland and followed that up with opening round losses at the Australian Open, Montpellier Open, Rotterdam Open and in Marseille.
More recently, he fell in the Dubai qualifiers and might not have even played in Indian Wells after losing to Matteo Gigante in the qualifiers. Now, having earned a second lease of life as a lucky loser he takes on a tough opponent first up.
