Paula Badosa v Linda Noskova Head to Head
Badosa and Noskova have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Badosa Returns after Rocking Australian Open Showing
Even when she was ranked number two in the world, Paula Badosa’s best performance in a Grand Slam was a quarterfinal appearance at the 2021 French Open.
She went through a phase in which she had fitness concerns and fell drastically on the rankings chart but in more recent times her comeback has been quite a pleasant one to watch.
So much so that despite falling in her opener in Brisbane to Elina Avanesyan and losing in the second round at the Adelaide International to Ashlyn Krueger, Badosa had enough confidence going into the season’s first major.
So much so that she made the semifinal at that tournament, her best ever showing in a Grand Slam!
On her way to getting there, Badosa also defeated Cori Gauff in straight sets before Aryna Sabalenka got the better of her in the last four round.
Badosa will be looking to keep working her way up the performances and rankings as she resumes playing after that successful Australian Open campaign.

Noskova Routs Frech
Unlike Badosa, Linda Noskova had entered this tournament on the back of some underwhelming results.
Since winning the first round encounter against Anca Todoni, Noskova had lost three in a row, winning just one set in the process. The only mitigating circumstances were the kind of opponents she drew – Mirra Andreeva in Brisbane, Maria Sakkari in Adelaide and the in-form Clara Tauson at the Australian Open.
So when she faced Magdalena Frech in the first round here, Noskova would have given herself a bit of a chance.
What not too many probably expected was the manner in which Noskova came through, winning 6-0, 6-3 in a mere 62 minutes.
Noskova saved both of the break-points she faced while getting the better of her opponent’s serve on four occasions – four chances got, four chances taken!
Can she take the confidence from a performance like this into a match like she has faced earlier in the season?
Badosa v Noskova Prediction
