Matteo Arnaldi v Aleksandar Kovacevic Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2023 Canadian Open qualifiers with Arnaldi having won that one.
Arnaldi Inching Towards Top 30 Again
Matteo Arnaldi’s best ever ranking at the highest level of tennis 30th and while he is five spots behind that at the moment, he will enter this tournament with a good chance to try and build on that.
Having made the second round of the Indian Wells Masters last season, Arnaldi will know that a deep run in this tournament this year will help get there.
The Italian youngster hadn’t had the best of starts to the season when he fell in the second round at the Brisbane International and then lost his opener at the Australian Open.
Since then, Arnaldi has come back rather well, with couple of wins apiece at both, the Dallas Open and Delray Beach Open before Alexander Zverev dumped him out of the Mexican Open.
Arnaldi will take heart from the fact that he gave the top seed a run for his money in that encounter.

Kovacevic Inching Back to His Best
Aleksandar Kovacevic began the 2025 season ranked 111th in the world but through the dint of some fine performances at both, the Challenger and tour level, he has climbed up to 94th at the moment.
This was possible after he won a Challenger title in Oeiras but then made things even better for himself at Montpellier.
Needing to qualify for the competition, Kovacevic won back to back rounds to enter the main draw and then went on to defeat David Goffin, Mattia Bellucci, Alexander Bublik and Andrey Rublev to make it to the final.
He might have lost the final but Kovacevic now has a chance to improve on his ranking even further having no real points to defend coming into this after getting bundled out of the Indian Wells Masters last year in round one.
Arnaldi v Kovacevic Predictions
Arnaldi starts off a 2/5 favourite here but we think it might be a tad closer than that, which is why Kovacevic at 17/10 could be an interesting bet.
