Played in Acapulco in Mexico, the tournament is a part of the ATP 500 series and has seen a plethora of top-notch players participate here.
Right from Thomas Muster winning four titles in a row to Carlos Moya and Rafael Nadal grabbing a couple of titles in the early 2000s, there have been a variety of big-ticket players to win this.
More recently, Nadal won it two more times on its hardcourt surfaces, as has Alexander Zverev and Nick Kyrgios.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the ATP Mexican Open?
Alex de Minaur made it two titles in a row when he overcame Norway’s Casper Ruud 6–4, 6–4 in the title-decider.
Having come into the tournament with seven title wins to his name, de Minaur added one more to his collection in the season with a victory at Rosmalen on grass. He would also make the quarterfinals at the French Open and Wimbledon to make it one of the seasons to remember for the Aussie.
With the top seeded Alexander Zverev falling in the first round itself and the second seeded Holger Rune losing to Dominik Koepfer in the quarterfinals, it was left to the third seeded de Minaur to carry the flag.
He overcame Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinal and then benefitted from the retirement of Jack Draper in the semifinal to clinch his place in the final.
